Hi, I’m paola cummings.

I am so excited to start this journey with you. My name is Paola Cummings and health and fitness has been part of my life forever. I am finally able to put my love and passion of functional fitness, resistance-training, cardio training, stretching, and yummy nutritious food to work for you and your goals.

I am a mother of two incredibly bright, energetic, athletic, and busy teenage boys. My goal in life is to be able to keep up with their energy level and every once in a while kick their butts in a workout! My journey to health has been a bumpy one. Ups and downs with my weight since having children and given the different life stressors life throws your way! Fitness has always been part of my journey, a constant, and a mental health need! I started with running and have competed in countless 5k, 10k, and 15k, half-marathons, and one full marathon. Then I found CrossFit, functional fitness, and high intensity workouts, and I became hooked for life. Weight lifting, resistance-training, and different functional exercises, including stretching, have helped me reach my personal goals, and keep this old body moving. Who knew a woman in her 40’s could learn how to do pull ups and toes-to-bar! This was my personal journey and I would love to be part of yours, whatever that looks like. I believe functional fitness is about living YOUR best life. Able to enjoy and participate fully in all of its many blessings and experiences because you have the energy, stamina, and functional capacity to do so.

By trade, I have a master’s degree in social work and was a clinical psychotherapist for twelve years before moving to a school setting as a social worker. I finally had the time to devote to studying and becoming a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. My background and experience in social work makes me especially sensitive and empathetic to the psychological struggles of dedicating and committing yourself to a healthy lifestyle. Anxiety, stress, depression, unhealthy relationships with food, work load, responsibilities, I could go on and on about the things that impact our true goals of being our best selves.

I am ready to create an exercise plan that fits YOUR fitness goals in life, along with a nutrition plan that meets YOUR health goals and fits YOUR lifestyle! No diet plans. My coaching is about lifestyle, no diets, substitutes, supplements, or quick fixes. I utilize a variety of exercises and distinct periods to keep your plan fresh, fun, and exciting, while moving you forward as you progress. Health is a personal journey. I would love to be part of YOUR journey.
